Nana's birthday party!

"Nana" Steurer celebrated her birthday today at our house with a dinner, cake & ice-cream, and a pinata. We had a great time! She had the grandkids take on the pinata oldest to youngest and then finally Olivia smacked it down. Lots of sugared up kids in St. George tonight!

Riley in '06

I dug up this gem of a memory that I posted on some abandoned Google webpage I created three years ago. Riley would have been about 4.5 years old. Just reminds me how hilarious this boy really is.... Here it is:

February 2006
Recently, Riley pretended he was Joseph Smith and found a little backpack he could use to carry the "Golden Plates" (Jody’s scriptures). He asked Andy to chase him around the house while he carried his loaded backpack and would yell out, "I’m Joseph Smith and I’m running from the mob....I’m trying to teach my friends the gospel!". Later on that morning Geoff asked him what he had going on and Riley replied, "The Golden Plates". Apparently, there was some translating that needed to be done. When Geoff left for work that day, Riley said, "Goodbye, Father" in a formal quasi-British accent. On a different note, every time we come across the word "spake" in the Book of Mormon, Riley asks, "did you say ‘spank’?" and laughs. He’s great fun!

Girl cake

We made a little girl out of cupcakes last night to celebrate the new addition to our family. Check out the picture below.

Needless to say, we are just a little bit EXCITED!

It's a GIRL!

We saw the unmistakable ultrasound image.....it's a girl!

Any suggestions on names?

The last days....

We were reading in the Book of Mormon in Mormon chapter 9 where it describes how the earth will burn with fire before Jesus comes. This dialogue followed:

Andy: Will everyone catch on fire?
Dad: The scriptures say the righteous will not burn.
Andy: Will they sweat?

Togas and Hamburgers

We had a Toga party tonight to celebrate Andy's birthday. We had hamburgers, fries, nectar of the gods (smoothies in wine glasses), grapes, carrots, and other Greek delicacies. It was a night rich with culture (and lots of birthday cake and cookies & cream ice-cream). Andy's cake, by the way, was his own design. He wanted the symbols for Zeus and Poseidon on his cake. We also invited Jenette over to party with us! Grammy and Pops Young dialed in on Skype to sing happy birthday to Andy. Check out the videos and pictures!

Andy turns 10!

Today is Andy's 10th birthday! We are so grateful to have him in our family. His cake is a tribute to the Greek gods that he loves to read about in his "Lightening Thief" series. He designed this cake himself. Rumor has it there will be a toga party tonight at the Steurer house.....
